Local Merchant is "Heating Up the Community" to Help Stop Child Neglect by Matching Tax Credit
Mitchel's Chimney & Masonry Specialists Inc asks community residents to help reduce child neglect cases with a wood stove donation while effectively doubling their tax credit

WOODBRIDGE, VA, January 02, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- As the economic downturn takes its toll on struggling families, there has been an increase in child neglect cases of more than 20 percent. Because some families do not have the means to pay their energy bills, many of these neglect cases are children living in homes without heat. Mitchel's Chimney & Masonry Specialists Inc, is lending its support to Habitat for Humanity Restore in the fight to keep our community housed, heated and safe for our children.

From January 1 to March 15th, 2009 Mitchel's Chimney & Masonry Specialists Inc is "Heating up the Community" and is inviting residents of Fairfax, Prince William and Loudon Counties to exchange their old wood stove or other qualifying donation to their local Habitat for Humanity Restore outlet for $300.00 off a new high efficiency wood or pellet stove from the Mitchel's Chimney & Masonry Specialists Inc retail store. Just bring your donation receipt into Mitchel's retail location to purchase your new wood or pellet stove and receive the $300.00 off.

In addition to helping the community and receiving a discount on a new stove, a financial tax incentive is also currently available. Congress just passed into law on October 3, 2008, a 10% Consumer tax credit up to $300 for the purchase of a 75% efficient wood stove or pellet stove in 2009. This credit was included as part of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008. Those who can afford to take advantage of this hefty tax break can possibly double their tax credit and also help lower the number of neglect cases in their community.

This effort will increase Habitat for Humanity Restore Outlet's inventory of wood stoves and other building supplies making them available to lower income families and potentially reducing the number of heat related neglect cases in your community.
