B. Diane Alworth noted for demonstrated excellence in petroleum engineering


OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, June 30, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- B. Diane Alworth, Operations Engineer at Devon Energy Corporation, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of petroleum engineering.

With seven years of experience in her field, Ms. Alworth specializes in horizontal completion of gas wells. As operations engineer, she is responsible for overseeing a field of 300 wells, well completion, well refractories, plugged and abandoned wells, and their production and maintenance. A fourth-generation petroleum engineer, Ms. Alworth has been exposed to the industry her whole life and was motivated to pursue her own career in the field. She attributes her success to the support and mentorship she receives from her family.

Ms. Alworth received her Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tulsa and is a member of the Society of Women Engineers and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. At the University of Tulsa, she made the Dean's List. She hopes to continue growing professionally with Devon Energy Corporation.
