No Oil on Sanibel-Captiva Beaches; Royal Shell Offers Provisional Refund Policy
Royal Shell Vacations reports there is no Deepwater Horizon blowout oil currently on any Sanibel or Captiva Island beach. As a precaution, beaches will be monitored and Royal Shell offers a refund if oil causes the beaches to be closed officially.
SANIBEL ISLAND, FL, May 23, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Royal Shell Vacations (http://www.RoyalShell.com), Sanibel and Captiva Islands' premiere vacation rental firm, reports that there is no oil from the Deepwater Horizon blowout currently on any Sanibel or Captiva beaches. As a precaution, however, Royal Shell has mounted a beach watch to assure potential visitors that Sanibel and Captiva Island beaches continue to stay oil-free, with nothing but sand and shells.
In addition, Royal Shell has announced a special refund policy in the event oil does wash onto the beaches, and the beaches are closed by local health officials. This policy assures renters of Royal Shell Vacations properties that official closure of the beaches by City of Sanibel or Lee County authorities will qualify those renters for a proportionate refund for days remaining in their rental period.
"This is a major commitment by our company," says Royal Shell CEO, Randy Bacik. "We understand that all the media coverage about the oil spill in the north Gulf has people concerned about their Florida vacations. While we can't guarantee that extreme weather conditions will not drive oil towards our beaches, we can assure our renters that their vacation investments will not be at risk."
