Greenwood Utilities Completes a New Substation, in North Greenwood Substation, in August 2010
Senior VP of Generation & Power Supply Bobby Bennett explains that Greenwood Utilities is in as good of a position as ever to deal with unforeseen events and hardships.
SAN DIEGO, CA, October 28, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Senior VP of Generation & Power Supply Bobby Bennett explains that Greenwood Utilities is in as good of a position as ever to deal with unforeseen events and hardships. Greenwood Utilities' new substation comes on the heels of the Plum Point Energy Station's acquisition, an initial roll out of automatic meter readers (AMR) and a solar generation trial.
"We have operating reserves, which is beneficial knowing that if something catastrophic occurs, we can overcome it," says Bennett. "We have the monies reserved for these types of events."
As with all business today, Greenwood Utilities is taking steps in financial modeling and strategic planning by listing and prioritizing projects that would deliver significant value in the future such as generation, sound management and a strong staff of employees.
Born out of a $200,000 investment in 1904 by business men T.Staige Marye and Charles E. Wright, Greenwood Utilities is now a $200 million a year company that employs about 80 people. Greenwood Utilities generation capacity for power is approximately 74 Megawatts via the ability to burn multiple fuels for generation, including coal, natural gas and diesel.
