Cantsink Manufacturing Honors Commissioner McDonald for Solar Efforts
Cantsink Manufacturing hosted a luncheon and award ceremony for Commissioner Lauren "Bubba" McDonald to thank him for his efforts in the solar industry.

WINDER, GA, September 17, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Cantsink Manufacturing hosted a luncheon and award ceremony for Commissioner Lauren "Bubba" McDonald to thank him for his efforts in the solar industry. The three hour event brought together several of Georgia's solar industry experts and political figures, including Commissioner Doug Everett, Commissioner Tim Echols, Executive Director of Barrow County Economic Development County, Linda Moore, Mayor Thompson of Winder and Mayor Blechinger of Auburn. Cantsink's President, Patrick Hutchinson, presented Commissioner McDonald with his award. "The Commissioner helped support solar in our state when he called on Georgia Power and the staff of the Georgia Public Service Commission to present options on the expansion of large scale solar energy projects. We would like to thank him for all his efforts," said Hutchinson.

Commissioner McDonald asked to say a few words to the audience and he was quick to recognize Georgia Power, Commissioner Everett, the partners of Entergrity Solar, and James Marlow with Radiance Solar. "It doesn't matter how big you are, it doesn't matter how good-looking you are, it doesn't matter how much money you have. What matters is the people you have supporting you because it takes ninety other votes in addition to my vote to get a bill passed," said Commissioner McDonald.

Shane Owl-Greason from Entergrity Solar, Russell Seifert from Creative Solar USA and Peter Marte from Hannah Solar also spoke about the future for Georgia's solar, how solar creates jobs in the state, and their appreciation to the Commissioner. The event included a barbeque lunch and a tour of Cantsink's manufacturing facility and 42 kW solar system. Cantsink concluded the event with a demonstration and installation of a helical pile with a Bobcat machine for attendees.
